A member of staff is on duty from 8.30 a.m. Please do not send your child to school before then as they are not supervised if they are on site before that time.
Children in Y1 – Y6 go to the back playground and children in YR meet on their own play area at the front of the school for the 1st 2 terms. The gates to the back playground are unlocked just before school ends to allow parents to collect their children.
Mrs Lovewell is at the crossing from 8.15 – 8.45 a.m. and from 3.00 – 3.30 p.m. each day [2.20 – 2.45 p.m. on Fridays].
It is important that children are not late for school. Late arrival in the classroom can be upsetting for your child, and can affect the smooth running of the school. If you are unavoidably late arriving at school, please bring your child to the office. It is important that you sign your child in late, so that he/she is added to the class register in case of fire. Children who leave the site during the day need to be signed out. Registration closes at 8.55 am and 1.30pm.
Teaching time excluding collective worship, play times, lunch breaks and registration time is as follows :-
Key Stage 1 & Foundation Stage: 21 hours 45 minutes a week
Key Stage 2: 24 hours and 10 minutes a week
Security is given a high priority at all times. Possible entry points are limited and all visitors must sign the Visitors’ Book. We do ask that parents do not come into school through the back entrances but always report to the school office.
School Meals are cooked on the premises. Dinner money is collected on Monday morning and it may also be paid on a half termly basis. The current cost is £2.10 per day. The menu is available from the office and under our Tour Section.
If you feel that your child is eligible for free meals, please ask for a form. All enquiries are treated in confidence.
If preferred, your child may bring a healthy packed lunch, which will be eaten in the hall. Sweets are not allowed in school. Crisps may be brought in packed lunches on Fridays only.
Break time snacks
Children are only allowed a healthy snack at morning break. This includes fruit, vegetables, dried fruit, yoghurt or cheese. If your child cannot eat any of these for dietary reasons, please speak to the head or deputy about a suitable alternative. Crisps, chocolate bars and sweets are not allowed.
We also encourage children to drink plenty of water during the day.
