During the Spring and Summer through to early Autumn we run a gardening club. Through which pupils learn how to grow and care for a variety of vegetables and flowering plants.
School gardening supports many government priorities like sustainability, healthy eating, food in schools and Eco schools.
Contact with the natural world can also be wonderfully nurturing for children, as they make connections with natural environment, learn about the cyclic nature of the seasons, and begin to find out more about where their food comes from.
- Gardening is a healthy, fun activity for children.
- Children develop new skills and learn about science and nature from growing their own food.
- There are a variety of interesting activities children can be involved in, such as planting, mulching, weeding, watering and harvesting.
